|   DISE activities since 1994.District Information System for Education (DISE) was developed by the National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA). NUEPA has been actively involved in strengthening the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) in the country. NUEPA is committed to provide professional and software support to all States and UTs as well as for dissemination and analysis of data as it is provided by the individual States and UTs. NUEPA is involved in data collection as such and therefore the accuracy and truthfulness of the data rest with the States/UTs. The State Project Directors have certified that data is free from errors and inconsistencies and hence may be merged into the national database maintained at NUEPA, New Delhi. NUEPA, especially Dr. Arun C. Recognized institutions include both government as well as private managed schools. Private managed schools include both private aided and private un-aided schools, and government managed schools include schools run by the Department of Education, Local Body, Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Departments. DISE is complete enumeration of schools. The unit of data collection is school and district, unit of data dissemination. School-Head Master/Head-Teacher is the respondent who is imparted training infilling-up of the formats by BRC and CRC Coordinators. The filled-in formats are thoroughly checked at the cluster level by the Coordinator, Cluster Resource Centre. Data feeding takes place at the district level and the concerned BRC Coordinator is also supposed to be available at that time. All the districts have MIS Unit, which is located in the office of the District Project Coordinator. At the time SSA was launched in 2001, the coverage of DISE was extended to the entire country. The frequency of data collection under the DISE is annual and date of reference is 30th September each year. Maharashtra State office of SSA collects the schools Information through DISE from districts like school perticular, physical facility about schools,Enrollment(classwise ,agewise, mediumwise),Teacher Information, providing free facility, CWSN children, etc. |
